Anytime Hodge Floors can help bring a vacant building back to life for the betterment of our community—that’s a good day. Recently we had the opportunity to help transform the old Mary Black Hospital Child Care Center into the new home of the Spartanburg Regional Foundation. This space marks the first time that the Spartanburg Regional Foundation has had its own space.
About the new space, Executive Director/Vice President Kristie Caradori shared, “It was so perfect for us since one of our priorities was a meeting space for our board and community partners to meet. This building afforded all of that.”
The Spartanburg Regional Foundation serves as an important fundraising and community-impact arm for Spartanburg Regional Hospital. Hodge Floors has been a long-time supporter of Spartanburg Regional, and Jamie Hodge has served as a Board Member and Chair.
For this project, H General Contractors did a stellar job as general contractor, and the design was beautifully executed by Marta Reppe of Detailed by Design.
For the flooring, our Hodge Floors team used a variety of Shaw Contract carpet tiles as well as luxury vinyl tiles to create a dynamic and vibrant flow throughout the space and meeting rooms, which can now seat between 20–40 people. Note the rubber Millwork Wall Base by Johnsonite. It’s made of rubber but actually looks like wood!
Kristie Caradori noted, “It was very nice for us that Hodge Floors was able to do the floors for this building. Everyone at the Foundation has a relationship with Jamie and the Hodge family. We loved working with a local company—one that has a long history with us both personally and professionally.”
On that note, here’s to Spartanburg Regional Foundation's beautiful new space! We know that the health and well-being of our community will continue to be blessed by its important work.
