Hodge Floors is always proud to participate in new construction and renovation projects that contribute to the learning development of Spartanburg’s youth. One of our recent school projects, Abner Creek Middle School, is no exception. The brand new middle school was built to accommodate Spartanburg District Five’s growing student population and officially opened its doors to new students in August 2024. The new building facilitates a collaborative environment for active learning.
Middle schools experience high foot traffic, and the flooring needs to withstand the wear and tear. The designer and architect for this project specified Armstrong Vinyl Composition Tile. These floors serve as a flooring workhorse and ensure longevity.
The result is a beautifully floored school that not only meets the functional needs of a busy educational facility, but also features some interesting design elements. Our crews installed a zipper design tile pattern in the hallway using a water jet to cut the carpet tiles and fit them together like a jigsaw puzzle. In addition, each grade level has color-coded tile flooring, helping the students navigate the school.
We hope that these fun, yet practical floors will contribute to a positive and inspiring atmosphere for students and staff alike. The combination of durable materials, safety features, and vibrant aesthetics ensures that Abner Creek Middle School will serve its community well for years to come.
